Knockdhu 23 yrs old Distillery ws founded in 1894 following the discovery of several springs of the purest, crystal clear water on the southern slopes of knock Hill. The location was perfect, since it was within a few miles of the fertile farmlands of Moray, a district noted for its plentiful supply of barley and peat. The distillery nestles under the dark knock Hill, known to the local villagers by its Gaelic name. At certain times of the year, the Hill appears black when seen from the distance. The heather is magically transformed by the soft light, wind and weather, hence the name"Knockdhu' from the Gaelic 'Cnoc Dubh' meaning black hill. Knockdhu 23 yrs old has been produced using a selection of single casks, married together and bottled at natural strenght. Each bottle is individually numbered further demonstrating the exclusivity of this limited edition bottling.
